Gunnar is extremely smart, too cute for words & very sweet! He caught on to housebreaking in 2 days and hasn’t had an accident inside since. He’s also crate trained and will sleep in his crate all night without a peep. He likes to play with the other dogs in his foster home, chew on bones and is coming out of his shell more every day.

Gunnar was nervous and withdrawn when he first came into foster care (by being dropped over a locked fence in the middle of the night). He still takes a long time to trust new people, but once he does becomes quite bonded to them. After gaining his trust, he now follows his foster mom all over the house. She loves his cute little butt wiggle. Gunnar would do best in a home with another dog to follow and show him the ropes.

UnderdogGunnar qualifies for the Underdog Reduced Adoption Fee because he is shy and withdrawn. He was born stray and missed out on early socialization. Gunnar is a sweetheart, perfect for someone who wants a pal around the house and a companion for another pet.

Send us your application now to adopt an awesome little buddy.

All puppies receive a rabies vaccine, a series of 3 distemper/parvovirus vaccines, dewormer, monthly heartworm prevention, microchip, and are spayed/neutered through CARE. If adopted prior to spay/neuter, a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit is required in addtion to the adoption fee. Adopters must be close enough to bring puppies to CARE or CARE's designated Vet clinic for boosters and neuter appointments. A completed adoption application and home visit are required to adopt a puppy. Once all vetting is complete, we do adopt out of state. The most complete information about available puppies, including their current age and adoption fee, can be found on our official website at www.caretoadopt.org. Mixed breeds are always our best guess for adult weight and size, based on experience and other factors.
